How to Use a Digital Planner in GoodNotes (Step by Step)
Share
New to digital planning? It's easier than it looks. Here's exactly how to get your Weeklie planner from your inbox into GoodNotes, find your way around, and make it cute, in six simple steps.
01 · Step 1
Download your files
After checkout, your download link shows on your order confirmation page and in your email. Download the ZIP onto your iPad (or download it on your computer and AirDrop it over), then open it in the Files app to unzip it.
Tip: each planner comes in a Sunday-start and a Monday-start version, so pick the one that matches how you think about your week.
02 · Step 2
Import it into GoodNotes
In GoodNotes, tap the plus button and choose Import, then pick your planner PDF from the Files app. You can also open the PDF in Files, tap Share and choose GoodNotes.
Tip: import it as a new document, not into an existing notebook, so your tabs and links stay intact.
03 · Step 3
Tap your way around
Every Weeklie planner is hyperlinked. Tap a month tab to jump to that month, tap a day to jump to that day, and use the home button to get back to the start.
Tip: if tapping a link starts writing instead of jumping, switch GoodNotes to read-only mode and tap again.
04 · Step 4
Set up your first week
Start with the dashboard and your goals pages, then fill in your month and your first weekly spread. Don't try to fill in the whole year on day one.
Tip: plan your week on Sunday, and use the daily pages only on the days that need them.
05 · Step 5
Add your stickers
Import your sticker PNGs into GoodNotes Elements (or your photos) so they're one tap away. Drag them onto any page, then resize and move them where you want.
Tip: make a few favorites collections, like dates, headers and decor, so you're not scrolling through hundreds of stickers.
06 · Step 6
Back it up
Turn on GoodNotes backup to iCloud or Google Drive so your planner is safe if anything happens to your iPad.
Tip: keep your original download too, in case you ever want a fresh copy.
